It's Time to Get UAV Certified
The very aptly named company, Part 107 Guide, came to us with the perfect domain (part107guide.com) and said spin us up a website! The one and only product they offer is a PDF study guide that helps pilots pass the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Part 107 test to become certified to fly UAV's (unmanned aerial vehicles), or more commonly called drones, commercially.
The website was built using the popular content management system, WordPress, and leverages the power of WooCommerce, one of the most popular e-commerce plugins for WordPress. Additionally, the website makes use of two popular payment gateways, Stripe and PayPal, to securely accept payments from customers.
Design Process
As you might expect, this site is tailored specifically to those looking to fly drones commercially. The FAA has put in place regulations to ensure the safe use of drones in order to protect manned aircraft, people on the ground, and the drone pilots themselves.
Because this is a serious operation that deals with a government agency, it was very important to make this website look and feel professional. We wanted to achieve beauty in simplicity, by implementing the perfect combination of copy and graphics.
Based on these insights, we decided to design a website that was easy to navigate and provided users with a clear understanding of what the study guide offered and how it could help them pass the test. We also wanted to make sure that the purchasing process was simple and straightforward, as we knew that many of our users would be busy individuals.
The next step was to choose a suitable theme and customize it to meet our specific requirements. We selected a clean and modern design that would make it easy for users to find what they were looking for and complete the purchase process with ease.
WooCommerce Integration
WooCommerce is a free, open-source e-commerce plugin for WordPress that allows individuals and businesses to sell products and services online. With WooCommerce, you can manage products, process payments, and fulfill orders directly from your WordPress dashboard - so choosing this plugin for this website was a no brainer.
We got busy creating the product listing, ensuring the description was heavy with SEO keywords and detailed exactly what the customer was buying. As part of the WooCommerce setup, we handled tax calculations, user account creation, confirmation & notification emails, as well as much more!
One of the most important part of creating a product on WooCommerce is an eye catching and intriguing product image. Part 107 Guide didn't have a product image to provide, so they asked the team at GOAT502MEDIA to create a couple mockups. While our main services are web design and video production, we also pretty darn good at graphic design. We came back to them with a handful of options and after a few emails back and forth, we landed on the winner!
Payment Options
The team at GOAT502MEDIA took care to ensure that the payment process for the Part 107 Guide e-commerce website was seamless and secure for customers. To achieve this, we integrated both Stripe and PayPal into the website using the WooCommerce plugin. Both Stripe and PayPal were configured to securely process payments and handle the transfer of funds to the website owner's account. We also tested the payment process thoroughly to make sure that everything was functioning correctly and that customers could easily and confidently complete purchases on the website. By providing customers with multiple payment options, the team at GOAT502MEDIA ensured that the website was accessible and convenient for everyone, regardless of their preferred payment method.
Implementation
Once the design and development of the website was complete, it was time to test and launch. We conducted a thorough testing process to ensure that the website was functioning as intended and that all elements, from the payment gateway integrations to the product page, were working correctly.
After all the bugs were ironed out, we launched the website and told the Part 107 Guide team to start promoting it across all their online marketing channels. Their marketing efforts paid off, and they started seeing a steady stream of traffic to the website, with many users purchasing the study guide to help them pass the FAA Part 107 test.
I hired GOAT502MEDIA to design my website for selling a study guide to pass the FAA Part 107 test and I am extremely impressed with the result. The team was professional and knowledgeable throughout the entire process. They listened to my needs and delivered a website that exceeded my expectations.
Conclusion
In conclusion, our design of the Part 107 Guide e-commerce website was a successful project! The website was designed with the user in mind and was easy to navigate, which helped to increase conversions and sales. The integration of Stripe and PayPal allowed us to securely process payments, and the website’s search engine optimization helped to drive traffic to the site and increase visibility.
Overall, this project serves as a great example of how a well-designed e-commerce website can help individuals achieve their goals, and we are proud to have played a part in helping many individuals pass the FAA Part 107 test and become certified to fly drones commercially.
